Hi! I am a miniature American Hairless Terrier and my name is Lucy. We American Hairless Terriers are one of the world's hidden treasures... and I thought that you might want to know a little bit more about me...

Full Name: TCK's Sweet Lucy. Yes, I'm very sweet with just a touch of terrier feistiness when needed...

 Nick Names: Little L, Lil' Lucy, Lucy Girl, Little Dumb Head

 Birth Date: April 1995

Parents: Ginger & Buster Brown

Birth Place: Louisiana, USA

Color: Pink with brown spots... I am a redhead. Even people who don't like hairless dogs tell me I'm very cute! My "official" coloring is white and chocolate. Yum!

Size: 12 inches and 12 pounds... I'm perfectly proportioned

I like:

• chewing, chewing, chewing -- soft hairy toys are my favorite
• shaking and fetching my Vermont Man stuffed toy -- I have several, but I only like the ones with the right kind of fur
• shredding paper, especially Christmas wrapping paper -- see me in action, I can do it fast and efficiently!
• chatting through the backyard fence with my doggie neighbor Penny
• going for walks in any weather -- rain, sunshine, even cold

• riding in the car -- I'm a real good traveler, I enjoy the scenery or just sleep, I love car rides!

• pink color -- it goes so well with my skin, but lavender is ok, too

• playing with my Xoloitzcuintli friends

• and most of all -- I love snuggling and sleeping on a warm lap :o)

My Dislikes:

• I don't like being cold -- I love my t-shirts and sweaters, I don't chew my clothes like some misbehaving AHTs do, I am a good girl :o)

Misbehaving? Who? Me?

• Nibbling -- Being terriers, we AHTs love to use our mouths and nibble. I just love pulling stuffing out cushions and soft toys. When I was a youngster, I destroyed all mama's sofa cushions by pulling the stuffing out. I am not very destructive anymore for the purpose of being destructive, I just slowly nibble away, little by little. After a while my donut bed will have a weak area of fabric that breaks, and then I get into the stuffing! What fun! I just like to nibble, nibble... I do the same thing for my soft toys. I love those. I don't chew any of my clothes (I'm a lady :o), just my bed and toys. I know that those belong to me.

• Hearing loss? -- Mama says that I suffer from "selective hearing loss". She claims that I am deaf, but only at certain times. If I am resting comfortably on my little soft bed, I won't blink an eye at first when mama calls me. Unless, of course, there is a treat involved! I can hear that treat can lid snap open across the house. Mama says that this "selective hearing loss" is a breed trait among us AHTs. :o)This page first published in 1997.
