Elvis
is six years old but still behaves like a puppy a lot of the time.
He is a real companion dog but also a good guard dog and certainly
protects our two young children if other dogs come near. He has a
real sense of humour. He loves food and is extremely energetic. He
adores going for walks (I have only to put my shoes on and he's
already got the lead in his mouth) but does get very matted so we
keep his fur quite short, especially in the summer. He eats
everything except cucumber and is a real performer when we are out.
He is so gentle with children but is totally unafraid of other
dogs... he's seen off a few nosey Dobermans in his time! I think
Bolognese is the perfect breed for families. They don't malt, they
are happy to be active or sleeping on their favourite chair. They
are alert, responsive and gentle. Everyone loves Elvis although he
is quite enigmatic as he looks like a bundle of fluff but underneath
it he can be quite forthright and fierce. Bolognese really is the
ideal breed, especially for someone who wants both a cute lap dog
and also a dog who likes a bit of rough and tumble.
