American Hairless Terriers and other hairless dogs may have sensitive skin and sometimes it takes several tries to find a collar that doesn't irritate your dog's skin. Over the years I've tried many different types of collars on my hairless dogs. My Xolos seem to tolerate nylon collars, especially the soft round ones, just fine. On the other hand, my AHT Sweet Lucy is not as fortunate. Nylon, leather, and metal in collars irritate her skin. From my experience, the cotton fabric covered nylon collars with plastic snaps are the least irritating ones. Wider ones are more comfortable during walks for your dog's throat than the very thin ones, especially if your dog likes to pull. I use the medium 3/4 inch ones (10-16 inch neck size) on my 12 lb Lucy for walks. She doesn't pull except when she sees another dog! Then she gets real excited. :O) No irritating nylon or metal touching your hairless dog's skin. These collars are made of nylon covered with cotton fabric, and they have plastic buckles. They are strong, well made, very durable, and machine washable. And they are very cute! Collars for every season and holiday! Double check the correct size.
